After carrying out a survey about the use of RNG mods on the PAYDAY 2 Speedrunning Discord server (which you should join if you are interested in running the game, check the sidebar), and taking into account all your opinions, we’ve decided to create a specific Speedrunning mod based on the RNG modifier mod originally developed by Dr_Newbie. Znix included all the changes needed to adapt it for speedrunning. We hope this huge change can help to develop the game further and get even more runs submitted, as it reduces the time spent to get nice runs. Nonetheless, it also means that some changes need to be done to the leaderboards. We will try to explain everything here (prepare for a long but hopefully worth long read):
The idea was to make the mod completely optional to those runners not willing to reset thousands of times. But ZNix helped us to make sure nobody was cheating by adding a feature which is basically a mod list on the top right of the screen. For that reason, as we want to keep the runs fair for everyone and to make sure no one is using mods of any kind, ALL RUNS NEED TO HAVE SPEEDRUNNING MOD INSTALLED , even if the rng is not being modified.
Four screenplays syd field. The download for the mod can be found in the Resources tab. It will take you to a Google Drive folder which contains the Speedrunning mod, and a text file with both the info you need to install the mod and the features it comes with. (You can read the file online, and it’s really advised).
We have developed a ruleset regarding the mod, hoping to control the use of it so that it’s only a way of saving the time you would spend resetting and doesn’t mean a real advantage over whoever decides not to use it:
• Speedrunning mod must be used in every run, either individual levels and full game runs.
• Only the Speedrunning mod and SuperBLT (required for the mod) are allowed. NO OTHER MODS ARE ALLOWED. The Speedrunning mod features a list of mods installed. If anything else appears on that list, YOUR RUN WILL BE REJECTED.
• The mod comes with an updated in-game timer, featuring hundredths. That timer is ONLY INDICATIVE. When submitting a run, submit the time displayed on the crew stats as we have been always doing.
• You are allowed to change your RNG settings between days. However you must restart the heist for the new settings to be applied, so you will have to restart IN THE PREPLANNING SCREEN. If you restart during gameplay, the time displayed on the in-game timer will be added to your final time.
• Your RNG settings must be possible when playing vanilla. IF YOU USE AN IMPOSSIBLE RNG SETTING ON VANILLA, YOUR RUN WILL BE REJECTED.
• Changing RNG with the mod is only allowed in individual levels and not in Crime Spree nor Contractor% . However, the mod automatically prevents the RNG from being changed in this gamemode, so you need to keep the mod installed when running this category.
• If another player (that is not the host) is using mods, at the end of the heist, you must show which mods are they using at the player list. Still, only speedrunning mod is allowed.
For any questions , help, or concerns regarding the mod or anything, feel free to leave a message here and we’ll try to answer asap. Thanks for reading and good luck (you won’t need it anymore LUL) with your runs!

This page sucks. If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome. |
Payday 2 is Left 4 Dead in all essence, except the waves of zombies are replaced with waves of police officers. It's also the only game on planet earth where you can play alongside a character voiced by Ron Perlman, Hotline Miami's Jacket, Ethan and Hila of H3H3 Productions (yes, really!) and.. Scarface. It's also ridiculously fun.
The game was renamed 'Payday 2: Ultimate Edition' in early 2017 on Steam, which removed the Large quantities of DLC the game had, and packaged the game into a DLC bundle costing 1/4 of its original value.
To do: Lots of stuff:

Unused Audio Radio Scanners are apparently very loud.. |
Placeholder Text
By using a game trainer in the Car Shop heist and arresting yourself while driving a car can trigger the camera to be frozen beneath the map and placeholder text that says 'Bleh Bleh In 00'
Pole Dancing Animations
By using a game trainer, the now-defunct HoxHUD or a BLT Mod (and typing in chat: 'Hoxtalicious!'), you can spawn NPCs and have them perform almost all of the idle animations in the game. Of interest to this wiki, is that this includes pole dancing animations that go unseen normally in-game.
Early Ukrainian Job Lines
The games files have some early lines for both Vlad and Bain in the heist 'Ukrainian Job'. The concept originally was to steal a necklace for Vlad's wife, Ludmilla, so she can wear it at Dmitri's wedding, and 'Look Better Than Her [Dmitri's Wife]'. In the final version of the heist, the gang steals a Tiara meant for Dmitri's Wife, from the jewelry store, which, in turn, is supposed to make Dmitri postpone the wedding.
In addition, the filter on Bain's voice sounds very close to the filter used on the mission No Mercy in the original game.
Unused Masks, Colors & Patterns
Whilst technically not unused, there's no way of acquiring the Skull Mask, the I Love Overkill pattern, or the black & red coloring if you never pre-ordered the game. Using a trainer, you can wear the mask and use both the coloring & pattern, but on running the game without it, they become unavailable and DLC locked once more.
There are also eight masks from the beta that never got included for use in the actual game, not even being obtainable with trainers. One of these is a mask named The Twister. Presumably, it went unused and was removed after the first beta ended due to its similarity to Obito Uchiha's mask from the Naruto series. There are also three different masks, four for both male and female variants, both having Blood, Clown, and Stone versions of them. In addition, a Voodoo mask featuring dreadlocks that support NVIDIA PhysX is among these beta masks, which also didn't get included.
An unused mask included with the Car Shop heist during the Spring Break Hype Train event in 2015 was released, alongside the 'The Tids' mask; a F1 racing helmet. Its resources can be found in the game files, but no programming nor a blackmarket icon for it exists.
Deleted Train Heist
At one point, a three-day heist involving a train was planned, going as far to have Viklund (the voice of Bain and the game's sound director) record lines for it. Perhaps the assets for this train heist were used in the secret train heist mission in the Armored Transport DLC?
Day 1 would involve defending a tunnel with a cart transporting goods from the bank vault. You would also have to refuel an engine occasionally to keep the cart working. Day 2 would involve keeping the bags safe and waiting for a new truck to come in. Day 3 would involve making it to a train yard in time in order to throw the bags onto a train. You could determine where the train would come from with a control panel if you got there fast enough. If you missed it, you would have to wait for a helicopter (which would have a random loot capacity) to pick up the bags. These files have since been removed from the game.
A lot of these ideas seem to have been reused not just in the Armored Transport DLC, but other heists such as the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive de_bank crossover.
Unused Music
Sorry, your browser either has JavaScript disabled or does not have any supported player.
You can download the clip or download a player to play the clip in your browser.
You can download the clip or download a player to play the clip in your browser.
Found in the game files is this unused track tentatively named 'Insane', that has some similarity to an actually used track (named 'Full Force Forward' on the official game soundtrack). As of the Big Bank DLC update, this has yet to appear in-game.
Hidden Watchdogs Escape Driver Animation
During the Watchdogs heist, the escape driver Twitch is placed off playable bounds behind a wall. If you manage to hit him with an explosion and kill him before he drives in. He will play a unique animation where his car will hit a police cruiser and a few other empty cars, after which he flips the car over on its top. Shortly after this occurs the game will crash due to it calling for a removed entity.
Unused Vlad Mission Debriefs
Found in the game files are unused Vlad lines of debriefing the crew after taking AK rifles for his gang, they were presumably going to be used for what is now Firestarter Day 1 as they are in a folder called 'debrief_vld_airport'. They haven't been used yet and are unlikely to be used in the future.
Unused Loot Screen
This seems to be an early mock up of the loot screen, and has appeared in the beta builds of the game being released over Steam. The music is I Will Give You My All from Payday: The Heist, whereas the heister's ringtone is clearly the codec call sound effect from Metal Gear Solid.
Unused Laundromat Safehouse content
Hidden Safehouse Markers
On the roof of the safe house, there are what appear to be markers of different items and actions in the game, some of them already featured in the safe house. These are probably here for development purposes.
Misplaced US Capitol Building
In the Laundromat Safehouse map, a model of the US Capitol resides outside the map boundaries. Using mods to access free-camera view, you can see this building.
Unused Safehouse Rooms (Laundromat Safehouse)
In the Old Laundromat Safe House map, there are several unused rooms behind bricked-off walls, most likely to test out features in the game during development. Using mods, it is possible to get into said rooms. The rooms also logically connect to each other with bricked-off doors, suggesting that at least some of the rooms were going to be used for features released in a later update, such as the safehouse customisation feature.
According to the game, Hoxton burned down this iteration of the Safehouse and found a new one out of sheer impatience, as Bain 'promised' safehouse customisation when the gang got to Washington D.C, which never happened. As such, this is only used upon first starting Payday 2 on the PC version of the game (outside of the Safehouse Nightmare heist and starting the game). It is still used in all console editions of Payday 2 (the 'Crimewave' and 'Big Score' editions).
Unused New Safehouse Content
Misplaced Cube
Payday 2 Mods Money
The New Safehouse has a White 'Cube' placed out of bounds, likely from development of the New Safehouse. Interesting to note is that the safehouse refused to load correctly on the Linux version upon release, so Overkill likely reexported the level again, and forgot about the cube while doing so. It was removed sometime in July 2018, and returned the following Month (coinciding with Joy's PC release).
Version Differences
Missing Drill Screen reflection effect
The Linux port doesn't have an on-screen effect for when you look at certain Drill screens. This applies to all drills, saws, and most laptops. Curiously, the placements of this effect is quite inconsistent in a given level. For example, The effect is present on a computer terminal in the Jewellery store in the Stealing Xmas heist, but absent from the drills that you use in that level.

Missing Colour on the Panic Room Door
The room containing the Panic Room has a metal door that isn't red on the Linux Port. A minor detail, if it were not for the fact that Bain specifically requests you find it in order to get at the Panic Room inside.
